ABR has been cooking up some slammin’ projects behind the
scenes over the last few months, and teaming up with the MLB Players’
Association to hold camps for underprivileged kids across the nation is
certainly no exception. ABR and the MLB Player’s Association are holding their
first camp in Miami, FL on June 12th and we are just as excited as
the kids are to get out and make a difference through the game of baseball. The
camps will consist of current and former MLB players coming to instruct the
kids on the fundamentals of the game and passing on life lessons and
inspirational advice on reaching your dreams despite whatever may stand in your
way. The kids will have a chance to improve their fielding, hitting, and
communication skills by learning from some of the best players in the world.
Normally lessons from a former MLB player are a real rarity and incredibly
expensive, but fortunately for youngsters in the Miami area, the clinic will be
completely free of cost to all participants. Being a part of a program that influences our
nation’s “Future Leaders” to strive to do their best has always been a core value
of ABR, and now that we have the opportunity not only to help underprivileged
children develop good character alongside their baseball skills, but to show
them a day of fun they’ll never forget, ABR couldn’t ask for a better way to
start the season. Luckily, Miami is not the only city where we are hosting a
camp this summer; we are also doing a camp in San Diego (8/6) and Denver
(8/14), both of which will follow the same format of our Miami camp. As the
camp draws nearer we will be releasing more details through our social media
outlets and our newsletter, so make sure to check your email and Facebook for
updates! Each player (pending ABR’s approval) may register online or by hard
copy. Space is limited so sign up now
for the best chance at getting a spot in the event!
