In similar news MLB.com put out an article highlighting some of
the young talents making their first ripples in professional baseball.
In Wyatt Mathisen’s first minor league game he had a monster day at the
plate going 3-5 with a double. Mathisen is 4-6 on the season with
the GCL Pirates. Carlos Correa in his first Astro’s rookie league
game went 1-5. Correa is 2-8 on the season for the GCL
Astros.
2011 Royals draft, Jake Junis, made his minor league debut in the
Burlington Royals (Appalachian League) opening night. Junis went
five innings to get the no decision. In his work, he scattered
five hits while letting up no walks and no runs. He also
accumulated a modest 2 strike outs.
