National Team Lands in Prague
10:30 am Central European time the
USSSA National Team landed in Prague, Czech Republic. This group
of highly talented youngsters have traveled over 4000 miles, expense paid, to
represent their country in one of the largest international tournaments in the
world. After the short drive to their hotel, the team checked in
and then began to shake off the some of the jet lag with a light throwing
session. At 6:00pm the team ate dinner and went over a few basic
rules on how they should represent their country in the very foreign
place.
Today began with a 7:45 am team
breakfast. After the grand buffet breakfast, the team suited up
and got ready for their first real team practice! The squad worked
for two hours on bullpens, batting practice, and light
defense.
“The guys really
swung the bats well and threw the ball well. We looked good and
everyone is very excited,” explained Head Coach, DJ Wabick.
After the short practice, the team
went to lunch at Capones where last years team enjoyed a meal.
They then went sightseeing until 3:00 pm where they feasted their eyes on
some of the most beautiful gothic architecture in the world.
Tomorrow’s schedule is very similar
with a 9:00-11:00 am practice and then a 7:00pm coaches meeting.
