On June 27th, the day before the start
of the ultra competitive "Will to Live" Northwestern Tournament, nearly 65
talented players took the field to showcase their skills at the ABR Scout Day. With college
coaches scrutinizing over these players’ talents and the opportunity to receive
an invite to the USSSA
All- American Games, every kid put on their A game. Head ABR scout, Brian Wabick, was extremely pleased with the
result of the event.
“I was impressed with the talent that
showed up for the scout day. It was rewarding to see all of the hustle and
positive attitudes from the young players. There were some strong arms from the
outfield with good accuracy. I was most excited about the opportunity the
players received to be followed by the scouts throughout the tournament. The
schools were interested in watching a hand full of kids closely throughout the
weekend.”
With a slight cross wind blowing out
towards the left center gap, second hitter of the day, Que Stuart, made a statement with knocking
his second pitch out of the park. The hitters were on full display all day with
solid gap shots and multiple short strokes.
Defensively the players hustled after
mistakes and shined on the big stage. ABR looks forward in inviting some of the performers to
the USSSA All-American
Games.
