USSSA Team SC is proud to announce the first team participants for 2009!Congratulations to a very talented group of kids!One hundred and sixty one participants tried out for the eight teams on October 31 and on November 21. This was a success and a building block for years to come.

Every participant was evaluated and will now be in the Amateur Baseball Report tem.This will allow ABR to track the career and development of each player and assist in determining the capabilities of each participant.The Amateur Baseball Report South Carolina site will to post articles, rankings and other important information that will be anxiously anticipated by all USSSA participants, coaches, scouts and recruiters.

Additional Details:
Games: Participants were placed on teams and played multiple games. The games will be scouted and coached by the evaluators.

Evaluations: Participants were evaluated on the showcase portion of the event as well as the game situations. Evaluators utilized the performance of the participant as well as the actions and approach of each player. All categories will be taken into consideration. The group of 8 evaluators decided on the best 12 players at each age group to form the first team as well as a second team of 12 at that age group. If for any reason a participant can not participate in the event in Florida, a second team participant will take his place.

Event Details
1. First Team USSSA- Team SC will receive rings and will compete in National Event in Florida in December 2009.
2. Second Team USSSA- Team SC will be chosen from this group of players based on performance- will receive a trophy
3. Each participant will receive a player profile page posted on www.AmateurBaseballReport.com
4. Awards: Home Run Derby, Defense, Catcher, Pitcher, and Most Promising Player
 

USSSA All-American Games
 
The 2009 All-American games were held in Kissimmee, Florida at the Houston Astros spring training facility on August 14th, 15th and 16th. Two Hundred and Fifty of the best USSSA prospects from all over the country competed to earn a spot on a roster as a first or second team All-American. The 16U team will be going to Japan to compete in the first annual All-American games.

Amateur Baseball Report state director Kelly Ahrens recommended approximately 20 players who attended local and regional tryouts. Three of these players made First Team USSSA All-Americans.

Congratulations to LJ Newman from Wrenn High School who was chosen First Team USSSA All- American for 16U and will be playing in Japan at the All-American Games!

Announcement of 15u 1st Team
Congratulations to Robbie Morris and Lorenzo Wright on making the 1st team at the 15u level.


The 15u 1st Team is announced at the conclusion of the USSSA All-American Games.
